Education Photography for MMU
This week I’ve been doing more education photography, two jobs for different departments at Manchester Metropolitan University.
These images are from a commission for the Sociology Department at an event they were hosting at the Home venue in Manchester.
The brief was to document the event and to capture images of the students and staff having fun and engaged in the learning process. As always with this type of photography it takes a while for people to relax in front of the camera and get used to having a photographer there.
Other recent educational shoots have been for MMU’s Master of Sport course, photographing students at various events.
I shot these images using my canon 5D Mk3 with the 24-105 and 70-200 Is lenses. The room was nice and bright but some of the subjects would have been silhouetted so I used a little bit of on-camera flash to fill in the detail.
