Salford and Manchester riots

Manchester Riots, Editorial Photography.

I’ve recently been commissioned to do some editorial photography for The Grocer magazine. They wanted a portrait of shop owner Mr Ismal Patel. Mr Patel owns two newsagents in Salford’s Shopping City . One of his shops was ransacked and set on fire in the Salford riots. Having seen first hand the wanton, mindless destruction done to this mans livelihood, it really made me feel quite sick. Mr Patel and his immediate family work 10/12 hour days, seven days a week, keeping their shops running and providing a service to the local community.
